Theary Chan

Theary Chan is accredited in Nursing and Midwifery and obtained her Master's Degree in Public Health from the Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Theary is the Executive Director of the Reproductive and Child Health Alliance (RACHA),a Cambodian NGO, for more than 15 years. With long experience in Cambodia and internationally, including nine years of management and advisory experience in maternal newborn and child health (MNCH) with HealthNet International and two years working as the visiting resident midwife at Hospital General in Paris and Romans, France, she also completed various trainings, and is a regular speaker at  conferences and symposiums in countries such as the USA, Myanmar and Cambodia.

 Her enthusiasm to promote culture for positive change has shown in the contributions to broad-based health programs that helped to curb maternal, newborn and child mortality rates in Cambodia. Theary is actively involved in conceptualization, incubation and the subsequent implementation of many projects in which culture and gender are cross-cutting themes.

Clara Affun-Adegbulu

Clara Affun-Adegbulu grew up in Nigeria and studied in the UK. In 2010 she finished her BSc (Hons) Nursing Studies with Registration as an Adult Nurse at the King’s College London in the United Kingdom. She holds a Masters of Public Health (MPH) and works since 2017 as a researcher for the International Health Policy Unit of the Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp (Belgium). Her expertise and interest lies within the domains of health policy and systems research with a focus on gender, governance, sexual and reproductive health and rights, sustainable development, universal health coverage, health systems strengthening in fragile and conflict affected settings, eco-health and primary health care.

Furthermore Clara is experienced in coordination of postgraduate certificate courses in international health and tropical medicine; in organisation and planning of educational activities including  assessments of curricula, exams and assignments. Next to being co-editor of the International Health Policies (IHP) Network Blog of the Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp, Clara does a PhD on political representation and governance, and is active in debates, studies and publications on issues as intersectionality and decolonization.

Nicole Nagel

Nicole Nagel is currently based in Cologne, Germany. She works in her own practice with Rolfing®, SE®, ISP and various vocal works in which she is certified. For fifteen years she stood on national and international stages as a performer and singer (Diploma Folkwanghochschule 1992), but felt strongly drawn to healing work in addition to art. In 2015, after an artist in residence in Burkina Faso, she founded the “3rd Space ­Transcultural Laboratory“ in which her artistic and therapeutic experiences are combined while working  in the individual and collective trauma field. In the last 5 years she organized activities and events in Burkina Faso, Congo Brazzaville, Benin and the Ivory Coast, among others, and she was part of  the africologne-FESTIVAL in Cologne, while continuing to find evidence for the added value of combining art and healing work. Her latest project, "Instincts - A Theory Of Change" (2019 in Cologne), was an artistic research project where refugees, citizens and artists were invited to take part and express themselves in a safe space and with the specific aim to create more social engagement and cohesion  between people with different cultural backgrounds.

Button Ricarte

Button Ricarte, MD, is C4C’s health policy and communications adviser. He is responsible for the development of advocacy and communication materials for various C4C initiatives. He is currently based in Boston as a Research Manager in Ariadne Labs of the Harvard School of Public Health, where he leads the development of knowledge resources for multi-partner engagements such as the Primary Health Care Performance Initiative, through the learning workstream. Button also collaborates with policymakers and technical officers from diverse low- and middle-income countries. Before moving to Boston, Button worked as an intern and researcher in the Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp, where their team developed guidance documents for the WHO on primary health care, health emergencies, and health in fragile and conflict-affected states. Prior to ITM, he was a health policy researcher who helped design and lobby for the Universal Health Care Law in the Philippines. Button also worked as a community physician at the Smokey Mountain dumpsite in Manila, and has since worked for government, academia, NGOs, and the private sector. Button earned both his undergraduate and doctor of medicine degrees from the University of the Philippines – Manila.

 Kann Kall

 Kann Kall is the project developer and managing director of C4C in Cambodia. He has over 20 years of experience in the international development sector in Cambodia. Kall held senior positions including Program Operation Director with Save the Children International-Cambodia Office, Program Manager, Norwegian People Aid, Country Director of Room to Read-Cambodia Office, Program Director of Save the Children Norway-Cambodia office. He also worked with UNDP for a year and half as Project Manager, and has served for six years as Managing Director for TPO-Cambodia (Trans-Cultural Psychosocial Organization). Kall holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration. 

 Kann Kall’s main areas of expertise and skills are organizational and policy development, organization management and leadership, managing change, project management and planning and budgeting, project proposal development. Kall has extensive experience in managing and successfully implementing the projects related to education, psychosocial and mental health, adolescent nutrition, livelihood, democracy and human rights. Given his leadership role, Kall has played a significant contribution and gained great experience in developing new programs, determining operational modalities, staffing issues, partner selection, and partnership work with local organizations. As a local professional, Kann Kall became acquainted with and led organizational development, coordination with government institutions and donors, annual planning and budgeting, strategic and tactical execution of implementation and monitoring results, and fundraising.
